We will rock you! was a college favorite, as it probably was for everyone. I was a kid when Freddie died and I was surprised to learn he was born in India, that was big news back then.
Actually i think it was that he was born in Zanzibar but he is Indian by descent, that is if wikipedia can be trusted. It must’ve been big news but then again everything about Freddie was big news so who’s to say.
Freddie Mercury was born Farrokh Bulsara on Thursday September 5th 1946 on the small spice island of Zanzibar. In 1954, at the age of eight, Freddie was shipped to St Peter’s English boarding school in Panchgani, about fifty miles outside Bombay, India. It was there his friends began to call him Freddie, a name the family also adopted.
And I was listening to Bohemian Rhapsody just yesterday…..
