betwixt the wire and metal

some duets are hard to hear
harder still to sing
the windows of these sounds bolted shut
and doors impossible to find
taking a modicum only of the absolute clarity of peace
to fly open windows and forever bind
with whichever amusing songs you are to find

the subtle ballad of gratitude
to the wool, for its scouring cleanse
its elixir of shine,as it often leaves behind its sign
healing the pan as though a fresh gust of air
or a wide sip of fine wine
the sheen on the pan sung
and the sound reverberated as it rung

the wool swallowed the sweet melody
lost some of its thread accordingly
and as a gift, wrapped in beautiful harmony
the wool reflected to the pan a sonnet
that of a martyr to his cause
the final act before that great pause
as it strum its thread onto the pan
the sanctified sacrifice soared and it rose
Now it was done,in that final ripping of thread
the wool had heard enough
as theirs was a sweet song, though both sweet and rough

  1. Thanks for sharing this. I love some of the images. This line especially, and all it captures:

the wool reflected to the pan a sonnet
that of a martyr to his cause
the final act before that great pause
