like a black and white portrait,
now awash,
with that dazzling spectrum of colour,
behind it remains,
the cocoon i have left,
of ugliness i am now bereft

reborn anew,
shedding those scales of old,
skin is now new and bold,
no more of that coarse pitch,
for now only a smooth silky tune,
caresses the air as it passes through.

what to do
and what to say
with this new form,
shining with grace,
at a much startling pace
as if a beam of glittering rays
